Taihape Health Ltd operates weekdays from 8.30am to 5pm, providing a range of primary care based services to approximately 3,800 enrolled patients. A clinic also operates every Wednesday from 9am to 4pm on Queree Drive in Waiouru, to support the surrounding district.

In order to improve access to health care, Taihape Health utilises virtual GP services daily and you also have the option of telehealth services afterhours. Ka Ora Telecare is a service available for people in rural communities via the internet www.kaora.co.nz or by calling 0800 2 KA ORA (0800 252 672), 5pm to 8am weekdays and 24 hours a day weekends and public holidays.

Telehealth services are accessible by phone or internet, connecting whānau with doctors from the comfort of your own home. These options are not meant to replace your local health provider, but rather to compliment them. These services do have a fee and require a good internet connection.

Located on the old Taihape Hospital grounds, Taihape Health has been operating since 2011. Alongside the GPs, Practice Nurses and Nurse Practitioner, the service offers x-rays, a social worker/counsellor, community nursing, and visiting specialist clinics – including community mental health.

Situated on the same campus are primary care maternity, physiotherapy services, and the Meals on Wheels service.
